Last year, the whole world was enraged by the state terrorism experienced by the 43 health workers, the "MORONG 43" who were in jail for 10 months for simply being health workers serving the poorest of the poor in far-flung areas unreached by government health services.

In 2007, women health workers in Guihulngan, Negros Oriental were arrested and remain in jail up to now via trumped-up charges filed by the military.
In the Philippines where the health system is in dire state, it is but ironic that the government displays such impunity against the very individual who actually commit themselves in serving the people.

With this, i am starting project: "health worker under siege," performance pieces that will portray the current state of health workers in the country. Although it's still a plan, i have actually started it, in different forms, during the campaign to free the 43.
The photos here are some of those performances. I'll be posting updates on this project, hopefully soon. Watch out!
